Let me summarize the performance of GM Wesley So in the NH Chess Tournament 2010, announced by the tournament director Dirk Jan ten Geuzendam to be the last edition.
Round 1: So – Nielsen ½ - ½
Round 2: Svidler – So ½ - ½
Round 3: Ljubojevic – So 1 - 0
Round 4: So – van Wely ½ - ½
Round 5: Nielsen – So ½ - ½
Round 6: So – Svidler ½ - ½
Round 7: Gelfand – So ½ - ½
Round 8: Gelfand – So ½ - ½
Round 9: So – Ljubojevic ½ - ½
Round 10: van Wely – So ½ - ½
Wesley So drew all his games but was defeated in round three for a score of 4.5. GM Hikaru Nakamura wins the right to play in the 2011 Amber Blindfold and Rapid Tournament after defeating GM Anish Giri in the tiebreaks.
The Rising Stars Team wins with a score of 26 to 24.
I guess Wesley So's next stop will be the 2010 World Chess Olympiad at Khanty-Mansysk unless he plays in the 10-part tournament, Campomanes Memorial Cup. The tournament is set to happen on August 28-September 5, 2010 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, Rizal Sports Complex, Manila.
