Florencio Campomanes Memorial Cup 2010

Calling All Chessheads of the Philippines:
 
Florencio Campomanes Memorial Tournament
28 August – 5 September 2010
Manila, Philippines

The Florencio Campomanes Memorial Tournament shall change venues in succeeding years to other countries, based on activity and ability of the federation to organize well the event for best offer as decided by the Standing Committee, and support by participating in other Campomanes Memorial editions.

The Campomanes Cup shall be awarded at the closing ceremonies of the tenth edition which will be held in his home country, Philippines.

The tournament will be held at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.

August 29, 2010:    Players’ Meeting  at 11:00 AM
                              Opening Ceremony at 14:00
                              Round 1  @ 15:00

August 30, 2010:    Round 2  @ 09:00
                              Round.3  @ 16:00

August 31, 2010:    Round 4  @  6:00

September 1, 2010: Round 5 @ 09:00
                               Round 6 @ 16:00

September 2, 2010  Round 7 @ 16:00

September 3, 2010  Round 8 @ 16:00

September 4, 2010  Round 9 @ 09:00
                               Closing Ceremony 16:00
 
Default time shall be one hour after starting time.

There shall be three events, an Open for players rated 2200 up, a Women’s event, and a Challengers event for players rated below 2200 in the 1st July 2010 FIDE Rating List.

Entries are not confirmed unless Registration and Entry fees are received by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines before the deadline. A digital ID photo of each player should be sent by email to the Organizing Committee for an ID card.

 Tournament System

The tournament shall be conducted as a Swiss System competition of 9 rounds and will be played according to FIDE regulations. The time control is 90 minutes for the whole game with an addition of 30 seconds per move starting from move one. Draw offers below 30 moves shall not be allowed. Pairings will be made by Swiss Manager.

Cash prizes sponsored by His Excellency, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov shall be awarded in full, net and free of taxes as follows:

  1. There is no place for PICHAY's IGNORANCE, INCOMPETENCE & DICTATORIAL POLICIES in the Philippine Chess Federation. This TRAPO should just go back to his old playground - Congress! Mabuhay si GM ANTONIO at ang mga tunay na ATLETANG PILIPINO!!!
