Rating Skid

Hey there!

In a matter of 3 days, I lost 12 correspondence games at chess.com and all but one really mattered much to me, the Ruy Lopez Tournament Game I've been very careful about, I wanted to win all of my tournament games there. Hu hu hu! So from my highest 1668, I now carry a 1505 rating, the lowest I've had since my provisionary 1200.

Anyways, that's expected from someone who needs to earn a living as a Special Needs Teacher and Resource Speaker for Teacher Training Development and Training. As always, there are certain situations where we need to sacrifice a major piece to make sure we win the game that matters most.

And yes, my page rankings have been dipping for the past two weeks and I can't help but watch in frustration as I have to focus on the documentation aspect of teaching : report cards writing, planning and IEP conceptualization. All in the name of "quality teaching".

GM Wesley So leads the Battle of the Grandmaster at happening at the heart of the City of Manila. He has so far beaten IM Sadorra, attacking GM Antonio and GM Gonzales. As what I've said previously here, Wesley's Royal King will be the king to snare but will they have a chance? A "tsamba" (chance or luck) might be possible but this would be once in a blue moon.

Any news about Garry Kasparov? Mark Weeks of About.com writes a good one about Kas as the former world's number one celebrates his 45th birthday . Check out the compilation of related writings and learn more about the author of a classic series called My Great Predecessors.

Anyways, gotta go and be with my after-school-activity called MGIS Chess Club.
