Hey there!
The NCFP Region IV Qualifying Tournament was held over the weekend at the SM Bacoor Activity Center, Bacoor Cavite.
Only top 5 of the 100 plus field of players advanced to the semi-finals slated sometime in June this year.
Dasmarinas-based players dominated the event with Manny Yu and Ruel Abelgas leading the standings coming into the 7th and final round.
The game between Manny Yu and Ed Tongiua in the 6th round was so even but was marred by disputes as Ed claims the game was a draw but the able arbiters ruled it otherwise. In the end, the black pieces of Manny Yu won.
Anyways, more on this the next post.
