Mahatma Gandhi International School Team A won the 1st Manila International School Athletic Association Chess Championship convincingly by posting 11.5 points out of a possible score of 12. With Shawn Christensen, James Park, Atlas Sandevi and Benedict Edano manning the boards from 1 to 4 respectively, they wiped out their opponents easily.
The other teams who participated in the 1st MISAA Chess Team Championship were Reedley International School, Beacon International School and a fourth guest team made up of 1 player from Beacon and three from MGIS Team B.
