Indian Forces

First it was GM Vishy Anand and now, we have the three Indian juniors doing the wreck in the recently concluded World Junior Chess Championships in Gaziantep, Turkey.

Seeded at number 19, GM Abjiheet Gupta took home the world crown after beating GM David Howell of United Kingdom in the final round to score 10 points out of 13 rounds. On second place is 15 year old Parimerjan Negi who scored 9.5 points in the event after finishing the tourney with a draw with IM Arik Braun of Germany.

In the girls division, IM Dronavali Harika takes the crown and completes the Indian domination in this year's edition of the World Junior Chess Championship.

Going into the second half of the year, the Indians must be so delighted in the feats achieved by their fellow countymen. Remember last week's gold in the shooting event of the Olympics? An Indian shooter provided them their very first Olympic gold!

Chess today, information technology yesterday... What's for tomorrow?
