2nd LETRAN-CALAMBA NON-MASTER ACTIVE CHESS

The Laguna Chess Association (LCA), in cooperation with the Physical Education, Athletics and Sports Department (PEAS-D) of Colegio de San Juan de Letran-Calmba will be holding the 2nd Letran-Calamba Non-Master Active Chess Championships inside the Letran-Calamba Campus on July 5, 2008.

The successful tourney last year which attracted 181 players from Laguna, National Capital Region & nearby provinces was dominated by Christian Arroyo of Far Eastern University.

This year's event is divided into three (3) categories, namely: senior category (19 years old & up), junior category (18 years old & under) & kiddie category (12 years old and under). Prizes are the following: Senior Category - P5000 + trophy (Champion), P2,500 + trophy (2nd), P1500 + trophy (3rd), P750 (4th), P500 (5th), P1,000 (top lady), P500 (top letran) Junior Category P3000 + trophy (Champion), P1,500 + trophy (2nd), P750 + trophy (3rd), P500 (4th), P300 (5th), P800 (top lady), P500 (top letran) Kiddie Category P2000 + trophy (Champion), P1,000 + trophy (2nd), P750 + trophy (3rd), P500 (4th), P300 (5th), P700 (top lady), P500 (top letran)

Registration fees: P250 (Senior Division), P200 (Junior Category), P150 (Kiddie Category) Players are advised to register thru text or e-mail before the event. On-site registrants will not be entertained. Deadline of registration is July 4. Players are also advised to be in proper dress code. Players wearing under-shirts, slippers, shorts will not be allowed to play.
