10-year old Vincent Fuerte and 12-year old Olar Claudio lead the early entries for the December edition of MCC Kiddies Standard Chess Tourney that kicks off at 11:00am saturday, December 16, at the lower second floor of St. Francis Square behind SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City .
The two-day event is open to untitled young players who are 14 years old and below and must be born 1992 onwards.
Other entries include Sylvia and Aurelia Haryanto, Aaron and Andrew Sopungco, Aldous Coronel, William Bermejo, Isaiah Cerilo, Carlo Caranyagan, Reyandlee and Cyrey Geraldino, Trisha Calanio and Mary Joyce Fuerte.
The five-round Swiss and time control of 75 minutes per player will be applied in selecting the top four finishers who will receive cash prizes and medals and the best players in the following categories: 6-Under; 8-Under; 10-Under and 12-Under.
Registration fee is P250 with free MCC chess TS. Interested parties are advised to bring their birth certificates upon registration and must sign up at least before the tournament starts. For other details, call 826-8560 and 0916-852-1069.
