GM Joey Antonio Quits
GM Joey Antonio quits after round 6 due to sinusitis and fever. As what IA Willie Abalos, the tournament director "This morning, he really had a difficult time getting up from his bed and ordering his breakfast. After lunch, he was seen taking tremendous amount of medication for his condition".

He probably had to play black that day...
ReplyDeleteI know GM Antonio too well. He likes to play always white pieces.Or may be his performance is not good......
ReplyDeleteI'm not really sure for the exact reason for the pull-out of one of our solid GM players but there's this unspoken speculation, even among the players and tournament offials (I believe they were protecting the GM too) that he really had this bad performance. tsk! tsk! i hope he gets back into his winning form.
ReplyDeleteHey look at those players who beat Joey they are all in the upper half of the table, maybe its one of those Antonio's bruhahahah again.
