There goes the knee jerk reaction again after the Olympiad... Try to compare the PinoyChess Portal posts here and what the Chess Federation of Zambia has accomplished so far here.
I don't know if during the time of President Florencio Campomanes, FIDE has donated clocks and chess sets for Philippine Chess Federation.
As a member of chess-loving community, we ought to know that preparation, training and yes, talent assures one of a good tournament performance, not just money... but as the band from down under Silverchair sings "You say money isn't everything, but wait till you live without!"
Chess and money, the big difference.
