The school year has began for us and everyone is gearing up for the 10 months ahead of us. As I've hoped for and expected, I'm a bit working with the Learning Support Services for the occupational therapy issues of some students. Usually, children with special educational needs in the regular classrooms has this sensory integrative concerns too that add to the learning difficulties they go through their whole life.
I have always associated the Sensory Integration theory with Dr. Jean Ayres, an occupational therapist and developmental psychologist who was known for her work with sensory integrative dysfunctions which is also called as sensory processing disorders.
