Our very own GM Wesley So, the youngest player in the currently running World Chess Cup was one of the players with white pieces to draw the game in the 4th round. Out of 8 games, 6 were drawn and the only winners were GM's Mamdeyarov and Boris Gelfand.
Heartbreaker Wesley So will try to win his second game in the 4th round with black but if not, he'll be in a very advantageous tiebreak situation: speed, speed and speed chess.
In other news, we received a report from Marlon Bernardino about our other young players qualifying in the ICC GibTelecom Blitz Qualifier Tournament: Jan Emmanuel Garcia and Marc Christian Nazario. I have not checked on the rules yet or the system for the tournament but from what I got, it's a 3.0/g.
Congratulations to all of you.
