GM Mark Paragua wins the Blitz Men-Preliminary event of the 1st world mind sports in Beijing with a score of 8.5. Visit Chess-Results for the complete standings.
Unfortunately, it was GM Yuri Drozdovskij of Ukraine who went on to win the Blitz Men's Finals. GM Christos Banikas of Greece on 2nd spot, IM Martyn Kravtsiv of Ukraine on 3rd and our very own GM Mark Paragua on 4th place.
And in the Blitz Women Preliminary, we have WGM Yifan Hou of China taking the first place, followed by GM Antoaneta Stefanova of Bulgaria and GM Alexandra Kosteniuk on 3rd spot. This is the same top three finishers we have for the Blitz Women's Finals.
And in the Rapid prelims, we have GM Zhong Zhang of Singapore in the lead after 4 rounds. Our GM Mark Paragua on 10th spot IM Rolando Nolte on 18th.
