WNM Catherine Perena topped the womens division for the qualifying tournament to Dresden Olympiad with a score of 8.0 points. Completing the top five finishers were WNM Shercila Cua (7.5 pts), WNM Daisy Rivera (7.0 pts), WNM Chardine Cheradee Camacho (7.0 pts) and WNM Christy Lamiel Bernales (6.0 pts).
I received an email from JM that only 5 players are needed for the Men's Olympiad. This is something I'm not used to knowing but hey, times do change. I have to check on FIDE's site about this one though.
My summer vacation is almost over as I will be back to school next Monday, July 21 to attend in-service workshops and seminars to be provided by International Baccalaureate Organization.
Although I really believe writing/blogging is a good outlet for my creative writing pursuits, there will be dry spells again for PCC as I would need to refocus on my teaching.
I'd like to congratulate all the qualifiers for the Dresden Olympiad!
