Juniors Division won by MJ Turqueza of San Sebastian College.
Kiddies Division won by Paulo Bersamina of La Salle Greenhills. Pau scored 5.5pts in 6 games. Second is Christian Nanola of Laguna with 5 pts and 3rd is Vince Angelo Medina of Bacoor with 5 pts.
After the capturing the NCR leg of the Shell Active Chess Tourney, Paulo Bersamina takes home the crown for the Kiddies division of this tourney. Whew! Congratulations!
Well, much of the chess news we have in our country has focused on the Olympiad Qualifying Tournament right? The once every two years event is set to happen in Dresden Germany and by the looks of it, we'll be missing the services of our veterans in the names of GM Eugene Torre and GM Joey Antonio. Unless of course, a scenario like this happen:
"Only 5 slots are available in the qualifier... and the Torre vs Antonio Match... NCFP completes the 6 man line-up by taking in the winner of the match... Hmmmmm!"
What is not publicized (not yet) is there's something brewing in the preparation for the coming event set to happen on October. Let's wait and see! I just hope that all the peeps involved will all look after for the common good and not just for their own pockets. Tsk! Tsk!
