Hey there!
After some uncertainties, the Kamsky-Topalov Match is scheduled on November 2008 at Lvov, Ukraine. FIDE has just announced this with it's president Kirsan Ilyumzhinov guaranteeing the organizer's offer of $750,000.00 with his, uhh, personal dough.
That is one big money dude!
After all the issues on "neutrality" well, both players agreed on the one most important thing, to play outside of their homelands. Hahahaha! Not US of A and not in Bulgaria.
Vishy Anand defends his crown against Vladimir Kramnik in Bonn, Germany by October this year.
Dates provided by The Week in Chess:
Dates for the match: Gm1: Oct 14th, Gm2: Oct 15th, Gm3: Oct 17th, Gm4: Oct 18th, Gm5: Oct 20th, Gm6: Oct 21st, Gm7: Oct 23rd, Gm8: Oct 24th, Gm9: Oct 26th, Gm10: Oct 27th, Gm11: Oct 29th, Gm12: Oct 31st, Tiebreak Nov 2nd.
I wonder how they'd mix it up with Germany's Oktoberfest and the World Championship games. Hahahahah!
Europe's got all the major tourneys for the year guys! Olympiad, Challenger's Match and the World Title Match.
Beat that!
