Chess...World's Cure

Hey there!

Got a link from GM Nigel Davies Tiger Chess wordpress and in there he wrote something about chess (of course!) and the growing body of evidence it gives about preventing Alzheheimer's disease. Ironically, scholastic chess has been trumpeted about in all corners of the earth but the therapeutic effect of chess on the brains cell (re)generation remained a secret, heheheh! Just like GM Buenaventura "Bong" Villamayor's Chess Development Program, it remained a secret in the NCFP office until Mr. Manny Benitez published it during the golden days of The Weekender.

Central Oregon Chess Journal is a new discovery for me, it got me interested because a "good friend of mine" Jim Mitch (aka Professor Chess) is based there. Working in the same world as mine, special education-rehabilitation and chess education. I recently subscribed myself to his Professor Chess website and it has a very good collection of training materials for scholastic level chess players. Very nice!

And in ThaiIndian news, former world champion Boris Spassky will be playing in a "simul" against 20 opponents at the Hay Festival in Antartica. For the complete write up, visit

Quazen shares us something about improving our chess games rapidly, visit here.

Another news of death in the world of chess, chessbase reports about Bukhuti Gurgenizde, 1933–2008.

Check out the blog called Playing Chess With Pigeons at http://pigeonchess.wordpress.com and read up on anti-evolution theories and other stuff you might be interested in.

That's all for now.
