One of the greatest writer ever of our time, Brazilian Paolo Coelho, wrote an interesting piece about chess in his blog which he aptly called "The Chess Game".
Just in case you're wondering who Paolo is, let me tell you the books he has written I've loved dearly and made sure are in my collection of "Greatest Books Collection' of mine:
1. The Alchemist
2. The Pilgrimage
3. The Valkyries
4. By the river Piedra I...
5. The Devil and Ms. Prym
6. 11 Minutes
7. The Fifth Mountain
And here's the list of his books.
Happenings in the 1st Subic International Open, GM elect Jayson Gonzales leads the event with 6 points closely pursued by GM's with five points. Interestingly, an untitled Filipino, Rolando Andador is in the group of 5 pointers.
We'll find out today after round 8 whether Andador teaches GM Megaranto of Indonesia his know-how of the game or vice versa.
