Our very own GM Mark Paragua finishes the Rapid Preliminary on the 18th while Rolando Nolte on 27th. Gm Alexander Fier of Brazil tops the prelims with 6.5 points out of possible 9 points. Following on second spot is Zhong Zhang of Singapore on second spot with 6.5 points too.
In the Women's Rapid Preliminary, Bulgarian GM Antoaneta Stefanova of Bulgaria wins with 8 points after 9 rounds followed by GM Xue Zhao of China with 7 points.
I wonder where our Filipina players in Beijing? They didn't play in the Rapid prelims?
