It cannot be stopped now... the games has began!
With all the last minute checks, from venue assessment to equipment changes, the World Championship in Bonn between Vishy Anand and Vladimir Kramnik has started today with Kramnik having the white pieces.
Chessbase' Checking the venue provided us a glimpse of what took place in the final few days leading up to today's game one.
Interesting to know is that every possible environmental factors were checked like the chairs our two players will use, the table, the colors and sizes of the chess pieces meticulously tried on by the players themselves. Very professional!
Of course we can follow the games at the Official Website of World Chess Championship 2008.
