5TH LEG OF NCFP EXECUTIVES CHESS STARTS TODAY

NATIONAL Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) incumbent executive director Samuel Estimo announced the holding of the 5th leg of NCFP Executives and Professionals Chess Challenge gets underway today, Saturday, 10am at the Boracay Clubhouse along 13 th Avenue, Cubao, Quezon City (near Ali Mall).

Estimo, a two-time Olympian member won the first two legs in this one day event open to all professional and executive chess player in the country Sponsored by Tawhay Boracay Resort Condos, Inc. The champion will receive a certificate for a 2-night stay for 2 persons at a Boracay beach resort. The second to fifth placers will win fabulous appliances and slots to the Grand Finals to be held early next year

Doing the ceremonial moves are Quezon City majority floor leader and 4th district councilor Ariel Inton and GM Eugene Torre. Expected to be present are IM Rodolfo Tan Cardoso, Tawhay Boracay Resort Condos, Inc. head Arven Barrios, NCFP vice president Ed Madrid, NCFP Executive Director lawyer Samuel Estimo, NCFP directors ex-Benguet Governor Raul Molintas, Gen. Art Carillo and Dr. Jenny Mayor, ex-NCFP President Go Teng Kok, and Jess Torre in the event supported by QC representative NCFP chairman Mat Defensor, lawyers Ernesto Salunat and Rudegelio Tacorda and Commelec commissioner Mehol Sadain.

Confirming their participation are NCFP Leyte coordinator engineer NM Mario Rebano, UNESCO administrative officer IV Laurence Wilfred Dumadag, businessman Albert Rivera, singers Willy San Juan, Heber Bartolome and Christopher Castellano, NU head coach Jojo Aquino, Engr. Allan Diez and Octavio Canta, commercial pilot Amando Labarda Jr., Engr. Marianito Geguinto of Mauban, Quezon, businessmen Loren Tabilog, Noel Garcia, Joey Pastrana and Nilo Pagdanganan, Attys. Joe Aspiras, Quirino Sagario and Achmad Tomambiling, German businessman Reinhardt Orth, Jose Villanueva of Bulacan, Engrs. Interestingly, the Grand Finals for the 2007 Shell National Youth Active Chess Championship is happening tomorrow till Sunday at the the 4th level Bridgeway of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.
